Through experience and observation, KnowDental has developed a variety of tools to engage children in a fun and meaningful way. We have found that there is no perfect system as every child is incredibly unique. It is well known that kids learn best when they are having fun, but not everyone enjoys every game.
At KnowDental we take the times to consider our audience regarding culture, age, skill level and much more. The games are chosen in a very specific and customized order to create a personalized story that speaks to every child. While some children thrive on competition and high energy, others may be thoughtful and prefer to create. The systems KnowDental develops speaks to everyone.
A complementary to KD Cavity. It shows children the actual changes that happen to food items when just immersed in water and when they remain in the mouth for some time
The actual difference is the presence of bacteria in the mouth and the warm temperature that leads to faster fermentation of food. This fermentation produces the byproducts responsible of many oral cavity disease, like cavities and periodontal disease.
A jar containing an identifiable piece of decaying food submersed in a liquid (mimicking the color of the liquid used to cause the cavity in the KDsennaFlat®) Educational goals • Explanation that the liquid that caused the reaction in the KDsennaFlat® is similar to the liquid seen here. (not the same source though) • Children seeing a food they like in a “disgusting” form just from being left to decay and linking this to not brushing. • Sharing such a realization will make the group of children frown upon leaving food remnants between teeth.
The moderator puts the piece of food or some of the liquid on the KDCavity® tooth and the children see the reaction happening.
It's no secret that kids need to be engaged to effectively learn, and when we are talking about tooth decay this couldn't be more relevant. In this event, we demonstrate the effects of oral decay in a visual and graphic way. Getting a real reaction out of the children is what makes it stick.
We use nothing but safe materials in every event. There is absolutely nothing harmful in this game, just visual fun!
